I hope everyone had a wonderful Mother’s Day yesterday! I got to Skype with my mom and sister in the morning to exchange gifts and then spent the day with Jake’s family. It was a wonderful day. Everyone got to meet Finn for the first time and of course loved him. We gave both him and Oliver a bath so they were nice and clean and extra fluffy. Turn up the cuteness factor a few notches.
From this month’s Stitch Fix, I got some fun Spring pieces. I am so happy that it finally feels like Spring out. Actually, it kind of skipped Spring in KC and went straight to Summer as it hasn’t been below 80 in a week haha. But I love warm weather so that is fine with me!
If you’re unfamiliar with Stitch Fix, here’s how it works:
- Create a FREE style profile at StitchFix.com.
This is the fun part! It’s simple and doesn’t cost a thing. Just give them an idea of your body type and what you like to wear. Upload links for your Pinterest page to give your stylist some inspiration!
- When you are ready, schedule your first fix.
After you complete the profile, you can set up a time to have your fix shipped out. Your personal stylist will hand-pick out 5 items just for you based on what you said in your style profile. There’s a $20 styling fee, which is applied toward whatever you keep from your fix! There’s no monthly subscription fee, and shipping is free both ways!
- Try on your hand-picked clothes.
The best part! You can try on your fix clothes with what you already have in your closet and see how things work together. You have 4 business days to try them on and decide what to keep. You can even extend that if you need more time!
- Check out online.
You can check out on your computer, or through the handy app. You leave feedback for each item for your stylist and let her know your thoughts so the next fix can be even better. You’ll see the $20 styling fee applied to your items here. If you keep all 5, you get a 25% discount on top of that!
- Return what you didn’t love.
Didn’t love all of it? Place any unwanted items into the pre-addressed envelope that came with your fix, and drop it in the mail. It’s that easy (and free)!
- Schedule your next fix!
You can schedule you next fix any time. You’re not obligated to have one every month. You can request items for special events like a wedding or vacation, get new things every season, or get them as often as every 2-3 weeks! I personally like to receive mine every 3 weeks, just because it’s something fun to look forward to.
Now, here’s what I got in this month’s box:
Vixbe Thompkins Tie Front Top – $42
Lila Ryan Liza Distressed Skinny Jean – $98
SHOP THE LOOK:
T-Shirt & Jeans Kaylin Crossbody Bag – $38
Market & Spruce Brooklyn Dress – $68
SHOP THE LOOK:
Tahari Dance Perforated Three Strap Sandal – $79 (found them for $45!)
This box was full of Spring colors. The jeans were probably my favorite thing from this box. They are super stretchy and comfortable and hit at a great part of my ankle. I cuffed them for detail but still liked where they hit other wise.
The only reason I would ever wish to be shorter would be so that more dresses hit me at a length I liked. Shift dresses in general don’t look great on me as they completely take away my shape. I have pretty wide hips for how thin I am so this was pretty snug in that area but loose everywhere else. I do love the scallop detail on the bottom and the back! It’s a great dress for summer.
The top wasn’t my style. It’s a bit more of a crop top style. I did like the tie detail but thick vertical stripes don’t do much for me. I really loved the color and style of the purse but it felt a bit flimsy to me. I didn’t think it would last long with the wear and tear that purses take. That’s one piece I will always invest more in because I really use my purses every day so I want them to last.
Finally, the sandals were also not my style, but I know a few people who would love them. They were a very pretty color, but not something I’d ever wear. They did fit well (TTS) but the strappy type of ankle sandals don’t flatter my legs at all haha.
I’m working on a post about how to start a profitable blog that I’m hoping to have up later this week. I can’t believe how fast this month is going by already. It’s crazy! It’s been a great month thus far and every day is one day closer to my wedding so I’m thrilled!!
Have a wonderful Monday 🙂
