Stitch Fix Review #6

This Fix came right before Jake and I went to Texas for New Years to see some of his family. I asked for a dress to wear that would be on the modest side, since we’ll be with his grandparents, and some more jeans and sweaters since it never hurts to have more of those for work. I also asked for some taupe booties since I need some new ones. I didn’t get to open it before we left since we just didn’t have time, but the great thing about Stitch Fix is that I was able to extend the time I kept my box an extra few days to look through and decide what I wanted.

*I was on a business trip this week, so please excuse the hotel bathroom mirror pictures!*

If you’re unfamiliar with Stitch Fix, here’s how it works:

1.    Create a FREE style profile at
This is the fun part! It’s simple and doesn’t cost a thing. Just give them an idea of your body type and what you like to wear. Upload links for your Pinterest page to give your stylist some inspiration!
2.    When you are ready, schedule your first fix.
After you complete the profile, you can set up a time to have your fix shipped out. Your personal stylist will hand-pick out 5 items just for you based on what you said in your style profile. There’s a $20 styling fee, which is applied toward whatever you keep from your fix! There’s no monthly subscription fee, and shipping is free both ways!
3.    Try on your hand-picked clothes.
The best part! You can try on your fix clothes with what you already have in your closet and see how things work together. You have 4 business days to try them on and decide what to keep. You can even extend that if you need more time!
4.    Check out online.
You can check out on your computer, or through the handy app. You leave feedback for each item for your stylist and let her know your thoughts so the next fix can be even better. You’ll see the $20 styling fee applied to your items here. If you keep all 5, you get a 25% discount on top of that!
5.    Return what you didn’t love.
Didn’t love all of it? Place any unwanted items into the pre-addressed envelope that came with your fix, and drop it in the mail. It’s that easy (and free)!
6.    Schedule your next fix!
You can schedule you next fix any time. You’re not obligated to have one every month. You can request items for special events like a wedding or vacation, get new things every season, or get them as often as every 2-3 weeks! I personally like to receive mine every 3 weeks, just because it’s something fun to look forward to.

First Impressions of the box:
My first view of this fix, I was excited about the sweater and the jeans. I thought at first glance, they look like my style. The booties look cute, but are a little short in the heel. I like my booties to have more of a heel, typically. The dress looks cute, but I’m not usually a big fan of busy floral patterns. I don’t like the neckline of the chambray shirt, but it may look better in person.

Here we go:

I love the color and style of this sweater. It’s a cute material and has a thick thermal-like design. This was the piece I was most excited about getting since it’s pretty close to my typical style. I’m sure if you’ve seen my IG, you know I LOVE cowl necks. Sadly, I just didn’t like the way this fit. It was a little on the short side, and I didn’t like the way the bottoms of the sleeves looked. I just didn’t love it.

I was hopeful for these jeans because they’re dark skinny jeans that would be great for work! I’m not familiar with the brand, but they felt like they were good quality, like most things Stitch Fix sends. Unfortunately, they were too big in the waist and hip area, and they weren’t skinny enough. I like my jeans to be super fitted all the way down. These had too much extra fabric around the bottom that wouldn’t look good with booties.

I have been looking for a chambray shirt, but I’d much prefer one that buttons up the front. This one is pretty awkward looking in my opinion with the collar and the pocket. Also, please excuse how wrinkled it is! This shirt made me feel like I was about to go on a safari. Definitely not for me haha.

These booties are cute, just not exactly what I was wanting. I like a higher heel for my booties, and the flatter ones like this make me feel like I have clown feet. These were too big for me, and the zippers on the back didn’t go up and down smoothly. I did like the cute button detail on the back, but they just weren’t for me!

At first glance, I didn’t think I was going to like this dress. I was very surprised when I put in on and it fit like a glove. It is amazingly soft, and I like that it’s modest. It goes to my knee, even though it is slit all the way up. It also has a t-shirt like top, and I think it’s very versatile. Even though I’m not at home, I started to imagine all of the things in my closet I could wear with it and I’m excited! It’ll be perfect for spring and summer when I don’t feel like wearing jeans to work.

I’ve been feeling like my last few fixes weren’t exactly hitting on my style, so I wrote my stylist a note to ask for a different kind of look. I refreshed my Pinterest link and added both of my Instagram accounts (danirhaines and everythingundertheKSsun) hoping she will take another look at everything and get a better idea of my style! My Pinterest fashion board has sooo much stuff on it that I really feel like shows my style off, so here’s hoping that next month’s fix will be spot on!

  • 🥰Our first Valentine’s Day being married was so special! Nothing like getting a beautiful arrangement of roses, right ladies?! Jake had them use pink and lavender roses and lavender sprigs between them to fill it out instead of baby’s breath. It smells so good!! I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine’s Day ❤️
  • Happy Valentine’s Day!! I’m working on a little DIY a project today 😍 can’t wait to be done and see the finished result. And to celebrate ❤️ day with hubby later! • Comfy casual for errands is my style 👌🏻 also I love this hat because on the days I don’t feel like doing anything with my hair, hats are a lifesaver. And dry shampoo 😂. I put a poll up on my stories yesterday asking if you guys want to see a series of posts on #cozyminimalism and the answer was an overwhelming yes! I’ve already started working on them and will start posting next week so stay tuned!! In the mean time, check out my post on 12 ways you’re wasting money on clothes and how to stop. • Fun fact day about my wonderful husband: Jake has this uncanny ability to make me smile and laugh even when I’m sick. I was in bed all weekend but somehow he managed to still make me feel better.
He is the king of puns and loves to make corny jokes. I’m talking real bad dad jokes. But I think they’re hilarious, and his enthusiasm and the fact that HE finds them so funny is the best part.

It’s the little things like this that showed me he was my perfect person. That and he told me he was going to marry me after 3 weeks of dating 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ which also made my laugh at the time but 9 months later he was down on one knee!
That was also the same day I tried to break up with him because I had just gotten out of a bad relationship and I was starting to like him way too much too soon. I told him I wasn’t ready for another relationship and he literally said “are you trying to break up with me? We’re gonna get married.” I busted out laughing but he was so serious.
Even then, I could tell he really believed that. Now 4 months into our marriage he still shows me every day he wants to be married to me ❤️👰🏻🤵🏻 We have to appreciate the little things like the bad jokes because the effort behind them is how people say “I love you” in other ways. Happy Monday 💕#marriedlife💍 #marriagegoals
  • It’s Friday!! Every day we deal with this intense cold, it’s a day closer to Spring 🌷😍. Shop this look at or via the link in my profile 💕 #liketkit
